I had the feeling, as I looked through the trees to this old abandoned farm, that the spirits of it's inhabitants still "lived" there, going about their daily routines in time... I seemed to sense an elderly man in overalls, going from the back porch to the windmill with a bucket....

Nice "other worldly" feel to them, with elements being out of focus.

Thanks. I think peering through the trees like that at dusk was what gave me the "ghostly" feeling... Or there may have been more to it... Maybe I should check out this little house for my "Shadow Visitations" blog... :)

Very involving .. I love shots like this because they let you imagine so much about what you can see and what you feel

I love old houses like this, I can always imagine all the pots of coffee made, all the dishes washed, all the Christmas mornings, the births and the deaths... the good times and the bad that went on inside those walls...

Thanks...

I had never seen this house before, in all the driving around I do in Kiowa and Pratt counties... And it just drew me like a magnet once I saw it...
I'm going back soon..

Thanks, Heidi!

Diane, I have a post with several other windmill pictures here:

in addition to the ones a few days ago! I love windmills, too!
My thing is really old buildings, though... barns, houses, outbuildings... Especially when I can get up close and personal, looking in the windows, or going inside... There is a feeling in those old houses, especially, that you just can't feel anywhere else! I try to bring that feeling through my photos... like these:

It actually WAS a very spooky place... I'd like to get permission to go back and get a closer look!

Almost eerie....like there should be scary music playing in the background.

I should write a screenplay and get permission to create a horror video-movie there! :)
