A big WOW! Yes the windmill is very beautiful.

Thanks!
The windmill and tree in the top pic are not the windmill in the third pic or the tree in the middle pic, but I thought they made a good trio!
(the sunset is the same though...lol)

Loved the Sunsets. I can't see the sunset for the trees here. The windmills were just super.

You mentioned in your comment on my Skywatch blog that you like history. You might enoy a peek at my blog,

OK Anita, I've got a project for you. I'm not much of an artist and the picture I want you to look at was scanned at a low resolution, but here's the deal. Look at my header on...
http://ksbornpoetry.blogspot.com/
...the sky was the type in these three pictures with the same trees and windmills. Now, what I was trying to capture was the sunset through a group of winter trees that looked like black lace against the glowing background. Do you know the scene I'm talking about? Do you think you could get a picture?

Hi,
These are absolutely beautiful. The windmill really enhances the picture.Interestingly enough,I have just seen a comment from Dot on Johanne's digital Holland Skywatch picture which shows a Dutch windmill. I see what Dot meant about the Dutch windmill being different from yours in America. Ours here in the UK are more on the style of the ones in Holland. Not sure about Holland but I don't think many of ours are still in regular use.I know of two locally which are now used as dwellings.

Anita said...

Forgive me if I'm way off here, but weren't your windmills used to grind grain?
Ours are just for pumping water from deep wells. They are still in use,and still being built, but not as common as they once were...

So beautiful -- it looks like home neighbor! You really captured the marvel of the prairies (its why I had to move back).

PS My Side of the Mountain? Haven't remembered that book in years -- I wanted to be that kid so badly. I love that back -- thanks for the memory!!!

Anita said...

I wanted to be him, too! I used to play alone a lot, and instead of house I'd play "My Side of the Mountain"! lol...
Have you heard about the desert tortise that has never survived outside of the desert - anytime they try to remove one, for zoos or whatever, they die? That would be me without my Kansas prairies... Even in NE Kansas I got claustrophobic because of all the trees and hills - Give me these wide open spaces! :)

Marvelous colors! And thanks for visiting! Peace.

Prairie views always have the biggest skies. Beautiful pictures; I like how the windmill provides a dark contrast to the picture.

Andree said...

I love these. They have the windmills so different, so American, from the Dutch. The colors and shadows emphasize the size of the land. My Sky Watch is here!

Oh ... how pretty!! It is almost like looking at coals glowing in a fire!
