Elementary HistoryTeacher - No, I think it's a marker of some sort. There are quite a few crosses across the prairies, erected by pioneers, or explorers... (most of which have been replaced because of deterioration) It could also be a reminder from the landowner of the cross of Jesus... there are a lot of things like that here, too...

I grew up in Montreal, which has a mountain smack in the middle of it, topped by a huge cross. Thanks for reminding me of my hometown.
I meandered through your archives a bit: your photography is incredible. I look forward to seeing more.
I've posted my WW contribution here, and hope you'll drop by for a look:

It isn't anywhere near as evocative as yours, but I hope it brings you a smile all the same.
Have a great Wordless Wednesday!
All the best,
Carmi
Is that a grave? That's so interesting.
Thanks Carmi! :)

Great shot.
What a beautiful Cross in the middle of nothing around it.
It's along the same highway as last week's Wordless Wednesday! It IS beautiful... I love simplicity...
Nice shot.
